Stepping into the Spotlight: My Experience with the Jacksonville Professional Women’s Council

In August, I had the honor of being the SPOTLIGHT Speaker for the Jacksonville Professional Women’s Council (JPWC).

From the moment I arrived, I could feel the genuine warmth in the room. The Jacksonville Professional Women's Council (JPWC) doesn’t just say they’re welcoming—they show it. As someone who has lived with anxiety for much of my life, I deeply appreciate the way they create space for you to settle in, introduce you to others at your own pace, and allow you to process your surroundings without pressure. They meet you exactly where you are, and that’s a rare gift in networking spaces.

A Moment of Personal Growth

Stepping up to speak in front of this inspiring group was more than a professional milestone—it was a personal one. It stretched me in the best way, inviting me to grow both as a speaker and as a person. I’m grateful for the chance to share my journey and my passion for vibrational sound therapy with a room full of women who understand the value of wellness and personal development.

A special thank-you to Tatia Orenzcak of Tatia Hypnotherapy for working with me on my public speaking skills. Her guidance helped me step into this moment with more confidence and clarity than I could have imagined.

Introducing Sound Baths to New Ears

Many in the room were hearing about sound baths and vibrational sound therapy for the first time. I loved sharing:

  • What it is: A sound bath is a deeply meditative full-body listening immersive experience where soothing instruments—like crystal singing bowls, gongs, and chimes—create waves of sound and vibration that gently wash over the body. The sound and vibration invite therapeutic and restorative effects to the mind and body.

  • The benefits: From easing stress and improving sleep to releasing tension and supporting the body’s natural healing processes, these sessions invite the nervous system into deep rest and balance.

  • How it fits into wellness: Just like yoga, massage, or meditation, sound baths can be part of a holistic self-care routine—offering a unique path to relaxation and renewal.

Where Sound Baths Fit

One of the most exciting parts of sound therapy is its flexibility—it can enhance so many environments:

  • Corporate Wellness: A mindful break that helps employees reduce stress, sharpen focus, and return to work refreshed.

  • Hospitality: A memorable, luxurious wellness experience for guests at resorts, spas, and retreats.

  • Conference Experience Station: A calming reset between sessions, helping attendees process information and recharge.

  • Team Building Activity: A unique way for teams to connect, slow down, and leave feeling centered together.

I believe wellness should feel accessible, inviting, and enjoyable. My hope is that by introducing vibrational sound therapy in spaces like JPWC, more people will feel curious to experience it—and discover the deep sense of calm it can bring.

That morning reminded me that growth happens when we share what we love, step outside our comfort zones, and invite others to explore something new for their own wellbeing.
