FAQ's

Below you will find answers to many frequently asked question regarding Vibrational Sound Therapy and Serenity Sounds

What should I expect during my VST session?

Prior to your session, you will have a short consultation with your practitioner to evaluate your current state. The practitioner will guide you through a short meditation and breathing exercise to begin the session. During your session, you will lay on a massage table, fully clothed, and metal Himalayan singing bowls will be placed either directly on your body or around it. The practitioner will not directly touch your body during your session.

What is the difference between a VST session and a sound bath?

Although both therapies use similar sound instruments, the main difference is how the bowls are used. In a VST session, the main instrument is a metal Himalayan singing bowl that is used directly on or near the clients body. During a sound bath you are laying on a yoga mat near the practitioner while crystal singing bowls and various other sound instruments, along with Himalayan singing bowls, are used to bath you in immersive sound energy experience.

What should I wear?

Please wear comfortable clothes that do not have buttons or zippers. Also, you will need to remove any jewelry during your session. If you wear sandals, please bring socks as the bowls will be placed on your feet. Please refrain from using perfume or cologne prior to your session.

How does sound therapy work?

Vibrational Sound Therapy combines powerful vibration and tones to induce an immediate relaxed state. The induction of the sound waves directly into the body along with soothing ambient tones can create effects ranging from a meditative state to deep relaxation. The harmonizing effect produced by the sound creates a soothing effect throughout the entire body. When different sound vibrations and frequencies are created, it impacts the body helping to promote deep relaxation, release emotional trauma, and relieve stress and anxiety.

How long will my VST session last?

Sessions vary from 30, 60, or 90 minutes. Although any session is ok to start with, we recommend you start with a 60 minute session in order to give your body the best opportunity to acclimate to this new experience.

Where will my session be held?

VST and sound bath sessions are offered at Palmer Complete Health on appointment only. Sound baths may also be made available outdoors or at other locations. Private, in-home sound baths and VST sessions are available, please contact us for more details.

If I wear hearing aids, can I enjoy a sound bath?

Please let the practitioner be aware if you wear hearing aids.  The facilitator She will showcase the sound so you can assess your comfort before the sound bath begins. During the session, some participants may prefer to remove their hearing aids as they can still experience the benefits of sound and vibration on a cellular level. We recommend that if you use a hearing device, you choose a spot further away from the singing bowls (towards the back of the room) for your first sound bath to ensure comfort. You can always move closer in the following sessions. She will showcase the sound so you can assess your comfort before the sound bath begins.

Should everyone have a sound bath?

Although we love sound baths and sound therapy and want to share it with everyone, this is not recommended for those in their first trimester of pregnancy, those who currently have thrombosis, have hypotension, epilepsy or any other neurological condition, or have sensory sensitivity. Sound therapy is not a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment. People with medical conditions should consult with their doctor to obtain written medical clearance prior to having sound therapy.
